Emergency Broadband Benefit Program

 

What is EBB?

The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program that provides a temporary discount on monthly broadband bills for qualifying low-income households.

On February 25th, the FCC unanimously adopted a Report and Order that established the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, a $3.2 billion federal initiative to help lower the cost of high-speed Internet for eligible households during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program was created by Congress in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021.

Who qualifies?

Your household qualifies for the Emergency Broadband Benefit if it has an income at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines OR below guidelines.

Eligible households can receive:

Beginning May 12th, 2021, eligibile households can recieve: 

  • Up to a $50/month discount on your broadband service and associated equipment rentals.
  • Only one monthly service discount allowed per household.
  • No minimum speed required to receive the discount.
